Ray Malone is co-ordinator of The Fallout Club. A community led response to the stress of single and low income parenting. The Fallout Club aims to meet the necessities of collective care through creative and wellbeing practise, and is driven to empower all parents to challenge the structural and social barriers we face.
The Future Ventures grants will help fund the Basic Income House workshops. The two hour craftivist workshop asks participants: What do mothers need to survive, and what do mothers need to thrive? Participants are invited to embroider their response on to the house, with each community adding to the discussion and the fabric of the wendy house.
The workshop is accompanied by a presentation about the feminist history of UBI, and a discussion about the potential a UBI has for transforming the lives of mothers.
