Isaac Acheampong

Isaac is a Ghanaian born, Hull based multidisciplinary artist. He has an academic education in Architecture and Post Development Studies. Currently, his work is primarily in photography. He also explores and produces work in other media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, video and installation. He’s exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions and part of group exhibitions at South Bank Centre and Tate Modern, and has work on permanent display at Wilberforce House Museum. Isaac has a broad range of active creative interests, including African drumming, instrument making, mask making…from recycled materials. He’s a skilled maker and an experienced facilitator for other people’s creativity to flourish. Isaac draws inspiration from many sources; individual artists, artist movements, historical and contemporary, his west African cultural heritage….through to inspiration sparked by day dreams, night dreams and everyday conversations and observations. Isaac has travelled on numerous occasions to Ghana, visiting various communities to document and explore various cultural, historical and social issues.

Essentially, Isaac is a creative explorer!
